Dentist says everything ok as far as fit goes. Hubby can't even eat chicken noodle soup. Chicken to chewy.
Really, are seniors and/or dementia patients so picky in their foods now? Even Cream of Mushroom soup smelled bad and Cheddar Cheese soup had no taste.
Believe it or not, this is more frustrating than potty issues.
And, thanks, but he doesn't use any whitening products. Great for the heads up!
Just his sense of smell and chewy features of his food has gone astray. And when I'm eating my dinner with him, I need to fix him something different. It's me; not him. He can't help it.
I never realized this until I read it somewhere and had noticed that on my Mom's grocery list were items that were very sugary [my parents didn't have any medical issues where they couldn't eat sweets].... Little Debbies, store brand chocolate chip muffins, pies, cakes, TastyKakes, Fig Newtons, Pinwheels, PepperRidge Farm cookies, yada, yada, yada.
Another thing, if by chance hubby is using one of those whitening toothpastes or whitening mouthwashes, that could also dull his sense of taste. That happened to me and it scared me silly until I realized it all started when I stared using a whitening toothpaste. Once I stopped that brand of toothpaste, after a week my taste buds were back to normal... whew.
