Garden Artist, did you see Bookluver's white and red ghosts? She explained how to make them.. In your case, you would use paste over the styrofoam head, let it dry, and there's no head holding up the ghost.
I didn't see them but I'll look for her posts. Maybe I can find them via the search function.
I saw some other cute little ghosts that were just small white plastic bags wrapped around a piece of wire, with black dots glued on for eyes and mouth.
Driving around the neighborhood to see what people create for Halloween is just so relaxing...and inspiring.
stacy, wish I could take credit for the eagle pumpkin. I found it online, an eagle scout had done it. I will work on mine once I move. Certainly cannot carve a pumpkin now.
One upon a time, long long ago... when I was an assistant principal at a private school, we so enjoyed Halloween, besides the fact that the owners birthday was oct 31st... anywho, we had these fabulous pumpkin carving contest amongst staff, all staff..
My best year was when I carved a giant pumpkin, stuffed a glass fishbowl inside of it, added a beta... put everything inside a giant wooden box filled with sand and loads of seashells. Darnit but I won 3rd place. I think Bob Marley Punkin Head won 1st... yeah man!
Crowded, draw something, we need a pumpkin fairy godmother to send us out for donuts in our pumpkin carriage! Or, you are more creative, what will you draw?
Thanks sendme2help, I have had a few I have been practicing at smaller scale. My husbands wants a witch flying on her broom 😉 with the moon behind her.
Even funnier, Crowded. I guess whoever took that picture and put it on i- stock photo has already made the best pumpkin pie out of that! Did you see how clean that kitchen is?
So, really, every year its the same, what will we do if a trick or treater does come to the door? Wouldn't it be great if that were the only problems we were facing? But I have to say, things are so much better since coming here, and not a single person yelled at me for not wearing shoes when I bashed my toe, in the dark, on the leg of the nightstand. Really though, I have a dear friend who treats me like a sister, and her admonishments are always welcome, and she called the other day.
It's time! Gershen said so last night when she posted her cute scarved pumpkin. Gershen, please post it here: " PUMPKIN CARVING AVATAR FUN FOR CAREGIVERS" Please join in the pumpkin fall festival by posting your pumpkin Avatar on this thread. Thank you for those who have joined in--those are some really cute avatars. I think I like the Lion laying down with the Lamb best, so far.
I decided to go with Casper the friendly ghost this year....... Here he is. He should last a day, as we are expecting storms on Halloween night. Happy Halloween gang! My little girl drew a few ghost in the foreground too.
Not carved, but this pumpkin is a mystery. They have been showing up for years, nobody know who places them in such a precarious location. When zoomed in it is carved with just text "HI".
Anymore scary postings? Halloween is Saturday night, it's still not too late, in U.S. time. Enjoying your avatars! If you change your avatar, post a comment here so we can see them all at once.
Thanks to everyone, one and all who participated on the pumpkin thread. It will be Sunday in another hour on the West Coast, clear skies, and Halloween is over. There were no tricks, and we shared one chocolate bar for dessert. Have a peaceful, and restful Sunday, 24/7.

Someone I knew years ago dressed her ghosts in red and called them the Ghosts of Soviet Past. This was around the time the Soviet Union collapsed.
