In-Home Care Overview: Caring Senior Service of Chattanooga, TN

Our GreatCare® method addresses the three most important areas of concern; quality caregivers, care solutions and active involvement. For over 25 years, Caring Senior Service has set the standard for senior home care services such as companion care, personal care, meal preparation, and housekeeping. Our care solutions are tailored to fit the unique needs of each client. By using quality caregivers and maintaining active involvement, we give seniors the control they need to live healthy, happy and home. Don’t you deserve GreatCare®?

Non-medical home care focuses on helping seniors with the daily activities they need to engage in to remain safe, healthy, and at home. In addition to assisting with daily activities, non-medical homecare offers one on one companionship. A well-placed caregiver can help a senior continue participating in their favorite activities such as gardening, baking or woodworking.

Amy and Ivan Wilen's goals, as Owners of Caring Senior Service of Chattanooga, is to give seniors the control needed to live safely at home and to give their families peace of mind. They believes that every senior should be able to remain healthy, happy, and home, as does their staff. We work hard to provide GreatCare® to every senior we serve.

We have been serving seniors for more than 25 years using our GreatCare® method, which ensures seniors receive the very best senior home care. The senior care services we provide are tailored to meet your personal needs. You will receive one-on-one care from a professionally trained caregiver that will provide care on your schedule. We know some situations happen unexpectedly. Our staff answers calls 24/7 and can meet you the same day to start care. Unlike other agencies, we charge one flat, hourly rate no matter what services you may require.

Care Solutions
Each situation is different and unique, and there is no one solution that works for everyone.
Our method combines services and safety care products to make sure you can remain safely at home.

Client Care Consultation
We complete a full assessment with each client using our formulated consultation tool. We look at Instrumental Activities of Daily Livings, Activities of Daily Livings, social needs, emotional needs and financial needs. Our consultation process provides the family with a complete assessment of needs, and they can make an informed decision on care.

Individualized Service Plan
Each client receives an individualized service plan that is based on input from them, their family, and includes our professional recommendations. The plan includes services provided by our caregivers, home safety products, and vendor services where appropriate. This provides families with highly personalized service plans that are tailored to their specific needs.

Home Safety Survey
Our clients each receive a 43-step home safety survey that includes review of each room of the home to make sure any issues are addressed. This provides the senior and their families with assurance that services can be delivered safely, and helps them make the necessary changes to keep the home environment safe.

Caregiver Personality and Skills Matching
Our client's personality is factored into the process. We want to make sure that not only does the caregiver possess skills needed to properly assist, but also has the personality traits they enjoy are matched. This helps everyone in the equation and assures good matches to avoid disruption.

Personal Caregiver Introduction
Our clients all receive a personal introduction to any new caregiver that will provide them with care. This introduction includes an overview of the caregiver's skills and personality, and provides an opportunity for our supervisors to orient the caregiver to the client's home. This provides the client with continuity and helps ease the stress of changes that may occur.

The Caregiver is the backbone of Caring Senior Service. So, joining our team of caregivers means being the best of the best. This is because we only hire caregivers that express a passion for serving others. We know that having this quality is equally as important as having the required work experience. In addition to hiring with an eye for passion, we only hire caregivers with at least one-year experience working with seniors or those who have a CNA license.

Quality Caregivers
We know that qualified, experienced staff can only deliver great service. At Caring, we make sure our Caregivers have the right personality and skill level to ensure our clients receive quality senior home care.

Skilled and Experienced
Our caregivers must have a minimum of one-year experience or have passed the state certification to become a nurse aide. This means all of our caregivers are experienced and trained to provide services to our clients.

Qualified and Verified References
Our caregivers must provide references so we can verify their experience and contact their former employers. This provides the assurance that our caregivers meet our high standards of trustworthiness and work values.

Refined Interview Process
Our caregivers go through a rigorous interview process and we select only the most professional, responsible and compassionate individuals. This means we are able to match our caregivers and clients based on both skills and personalities.

Nationwide Background Checks
Our caregivers have been screened with identity verification and an exhaustive criminal background search in all 50 states. Furthermore, we conduct bi-annual background checks on all caregivers. This ensures that our caregivers have not had a criminal past and that you are protected.

Ongoing Training
Our caregivers receive direct training on skills and conditions. We provide each with access to our internal library of over 1000 continuing education courses and make sure they have thorough knowledge of any condition they will be working with. This means that our families can rest assured that their caregiver is knowledgeable about the care provided.

Our Care Team

The Care Manager has a great job. It starts from the very first visit with a client. Getting to know the client is very important to the Care Manager. It helps her pick the right caregivers to deliver care. The Care Manager makes sure the best caregiver is matched based on skill, experience, and personality. Once care starts, the Care Manager makes regular visits to the home to make sure the care plan remains up to date and that everyone is happy with care.

The Agency Director makes sure each and every client receives GreatCare®. He manages the rest of the team so that our clients get the best possible service day or night. He does this by making sure everyone follows the steps in our GreatCare® method on the Caring team. With over 25 years helping seniors remain home, we have learned our method is what makes the difference. The Agency Director has the important responsibility of making sure that the statement “We provide GreatCare®” is not what we say it is but what we do.

Active Involvement
At Caring, we believe that in order to provide quality service we must stay involved with the client, family, and other professional care providers. There are often changes that need to be made to the service plan and or clients with special needs that require coordination with multiple parties. This keeps everyone informed of any special needs or required changes to the service plan, so that nothing is overlooked or forgotten.
