About Homewatch CareGivers in Grand Strand - Some knew him as the “Mayor of Wachesaw” or the captain of his beloved sail boat “Por Fin.” His grandkids called him Boppie. My name is Claudia Berner and he was my hero, my teacher, and my dad. To honor of him and the community that he loved, I opened Grand Strand Homewatch Caregivers in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. I want to help people and I know the benefits of home care from nursing for my Dad as he battled Alzheimer’s.
I made a promise to my father… As this disease took away his independence… to keep him at home safe and well-cared-for. I believe that moving out of your home should not be the only option for those who need care.
So my family and I took on the role of caregiver. After all, who can provide gentle and compassionate care better than family? When the time came that my mother’s own health was at risk, caring for him became a challenge.
It was that promise I made to my father, and my life experiences, that became my inspiration for opening Grand Strand Homewatch CareGivers. In honor of my dad, and in the community he loved, I have committed to others the support and quality of care that I searched for in the months leading up to his death.
Grand Strand Homewatch CareGivers serves clients in Georgetown and Horry Counties. Along with my experienced family of caregivers, we are committed to the promise of keeping a client at home, providing high quality, safe and professional care for as long as necessary.
