Put simply, our mission is to improve the quality of life for those we serve. Of course, we recognize that everyone’s idea of “quality of life” is different, which is why it’s so important to us to make you an active part of your own care plan. We want you to be in the driver’s seat regardless of any limitations or challenges you’re facing.

Most of all, we believe aging isn’t just about staying healthy, safe and independent. It’s also about living well.

Majd (MJ) Awwadi, Co-Owner

Majd (MJ) Awwadi was born and raised in Jordan, where his passion for healthcare began early. He earned his nursing degree from Hashemite University in 2013, followed by a master's degree in oncology in 2016. After graduation, MJ moved to Saudi Arabia, spending five years working in the oncology and bone marrow transplant unit, where he provided specialized, compassionate care to critically ill patients and their families.

In late 2022, MJ relocated to California and began travel nursing, working across multiple states including Indiana, Kentucky, and Kansas City. This experience broadened his expertise in diverse healthcare settings and deepened his commitment to helping seniors live independently with dignity. With 12 years of nursing experience, MJ decided to leverage his clinical background in the home care industry by acquiring the Right at Home franchise in Columbia, Missouri. He was drawn to Right at Home’s strong reputation for compassionate, high quality in-home senior care – values that perfectly align with his own approach to caregiving.

MJ currently lives in Columbia, Missouri, with his wife. In his free time, he enjoys spending quality time with family and getting outdoors on his bike for off-road adventures. He is excited to bring his clinical expertise and dedication to the Columbia community, ensuring Right at Home continues to be a trusted partner for seniors and their families.

Alaa Al-Tamimi, Co-Owner

Alaa Al-Tamimi was born and raised in Jordan, where she developed a strong foundation in technology and family values. She earned her degree in Computer Science from a university in Jordan, equipping her with expertise in IT systems, data management, and problem-solving. After graduation, Alaa built a successful career in an IT company, where she honed her skills in technical support, project coordination, and efficient operations.

Alaa has always been deeply family-oriented. She lived at home with her parents and grandmother, taking on the important role of primary caregiver for her grandmother. This experience gave her a profound appreciation for the needs of seniors and the importance of compassionate, reliable support – values she now brings to Right at Home.

Alaa is excited to partner with her husband, MJ, in operating Right at Home Columbia. Her background in technology and administration will complement MJs clinical expertise, ensuring smooth operations, strong systems, and exceptional care for the Columbia community. Together, they are committed to building a business that makes a positive difference in the lives of seniors and their families.

Alaa enjoys spending time with family, staying connected with loved ones, and exploring new ways to support her community. She is proud to join the Right at Home family and looks forward to contributing to its continued success.
