Where you live in proximity to client makes no difference. Charge a 1 hr minimum, even if you leave before an hour is up. See answers to your other similar post.

I paid for the whole hour for a woman to bathe Mom. As soon as you walk over that threshold, your on the clock.

I read ur other post. Part of being an aide is visiting too. I worked for a Visting Nurse Assoc. The Nurses were told by the boss, that part of their caring was visiting a little bit too. You may be the only person that client sees all day.

I don't know anyone who works for mimimums under one hour. That would be typical for many and most agencies won't do it for an hour. Their minimums are more like four hours for the day and minimum of three days a week. I do not know, also, with pills, unless very minimum in amount, whether they can safely be done, checked and rechecked and safely stored in that time along with a shower. I would make it a one hour minimum and would think them very lucky to find such a thing no matter where you live. You could add that you "safety check" the house, burners left on and toilets flushing and working and beds clean and dry and what have you.

If this is a change for them just say you are finding you cannot work 1/2 hour minimums because you have to go to the job, and it simply is not worth your time and giving up your own home life as well as other clients. Anyone willing to work for one hour minimum is a TREASURE.
Good luck.
