Find Care & Housing
Mary, it's time. If Mom has become aggressive, this isn't going to go away or get better - only worse. If you feel it's time, then it's time. It doesn't need to be "time" by anyone else's standards but your own.

Windy ridge is right. Some people, like my FIL was very easy-going and still as polite as he always was when he was in the throes of Parkinsin’s and Alzheimer’s. But my mom was aggressive and combative. If your mom is showing signs of aggression she needs Memory Care where she will be observed and supervised 24/7. This is not something that “goes away”. It only gets worse.

Mary, your mom probably needs a memory care facility. If you are asking if it’s time......It’s usually time for facility care. It just gets harder and harder.

Trust yourself to know when it’s time. No one can make this decision for you. It would be easier if we had a little more detail from you. Does your mom currently live alone and is no longer able to keep up with her own care? Have there been frequent falls? Does she seem confused and anxious very often? Does she have any help with day to day living including finances, shopping, care of her home, meal preparation, etc. Does she seem to you to be afraid and vulnerable? Are YOU afraid for her if she is alone?

Her doctor is a good one to speak with. Doctors nowadays can do more now than just treat physical issues. Also, if you have family available, talk to them and get their opinions.
