Where I live its called Social Services. This is where you can apply for a number of services and Medicaid is one of them.

As Lea said, this is a forum. We cannot help financially. Your County should have an Office of Aging where you may get resources to help you. Most places have senior bussing.

I'm so sorry for the distressing situation you are in.

Aside from the other suggestions, also please consider reaching out to a local church. Many churches have Elderly or Care ministries and you do not need to be a member or even a believer. Keep calling until you find a willing/able church. I'm on one such a ministry at my church so I know they exist. Many churches have benevolent funds for emergency financial situations.

Please come to grips with the fact that you may no longer be able to afford your home and car going forward. Downsizing may be the solution, and getting yourselves into a care community/facility where you will have help daily.

Your situation would overwhelm anyone. May you receive all the help you need and peace in your heart as you move through to permanent solutions.

You need to contact your county rep and discuss Medicaid and other services.

You've signed up to an international forum of caregivers to elderly loved ones here at Agingcare. AI says Agingcare helps with financial needs, but we do not. Many of us are in need of financial help ourselves.

Call 211 for resources in your area.

Best of luck to you.

Richardpitman13, welcome to the forum. Have you checked with your local area Council on Aging to see what programs they would have, that could help you? And also, have you checked with your State Medicaid office (different from Medicare)?
