I care for my mother all day and night and I can't work my job in order too get paid and make money too help with the bills and household items

What do you mean be not eligible? What type of care does your mother need? Have you spoken with social services and the Department of aging for elderly? What sources of income does your mother have that you think makes her not eligible? Have you and your mother consulted with an attorney that specializes in eldercare with Mediciad community and long term care knowledge? These are important questions that will help guide you to more concrete advice.

Please don't assume that if your mother has income that she is not eligible. Do research. Check your local community education classes. Our town provides 3-4 classes a year with an attorney that will summarize all resources and educates on the process of aging and Mediciad Long Term Care rules and regulations. Of course, they hope you will become a client but even the basic information is well worth this class.

Call social services for your county and see what options there may be (like an Elder Waiver to get her into AL or a nursing home). Realistically, I don't think you'll be able to keep her at home, so time to come to grips with this solution. If you become sick because you are burning out from the stress, this won't help either of you, right? You need to make taking care of yourself the priority so that you can figure out how best to get your Mom the care she needs and move on with your life.

You can also contact your local Area Agency on Aging for information and resources, or call 2-1-1 (info line run by United Way).

You need your job to provide for your own life and future. Please don’t give up on working. Your mom’s caregiving needs now exceed what you can provide, no one’s fault, just how it is. She can become qualified for help, her assets can pay for care and when that runs out Medicaid will pay. This happened with my mother, she had nursing home care using her money, when it quickly ran out, Medicaid paid for her care. She had the same room, same caregivers, same everything no matter how it was being paid. Please meet with an elder care lawyer and then maybe a Medicaid planner to proceed on the steps. I wish you and mom both peace

Why isn’t she eligible? If she doesn’t have money you can get her on Medicaid. If she has money, you can put together a contract for her to pay you, or she can hire help so you can work another job.

Whose house are you at home in? If it’s her house she can sell it to pay for care in a facility and you can go back to your job.

What income does your mother have? You need to take care of yourself and your financial future. You matter, too.

Why is mom not eligible for care? See an elder care attorney about applying for Medicaid on her behalf so you can place her in Skilled Nursing care.

Good luck to you .
