My 84 year old mother has dementia and the doctor has her on Eliquis, Buspar, Mirtazapine, Divalproex Sodium, and Furosemide. Most of the time she says she's dizzy. I've tried to lower the Buspar but then she gets angry because she doesn't know my dad anymore as her husband. I might try to cut the Divalproex (Depakote) in half next. Has anyone experienced this and what helped?

Maybe she should be taken off all of them and re-introduce one at a time.

You realize that these meds are not cures. Eventually they will not work as Mom's Dementia advances.

Speak to her doctor for medical advice. Don’t try to second guess on meds.

HI. For me, what was the last pill added. Did the dizziness start then? If so, lower dosage. If not, which need causes that side effect? Or all of them? I try to rule it out.

Call the doc first. Any chance mom might be dehydrated, if so, that will definitely cause dizziness.

Thank you so much. I completely forgot about dehydration. Very good. She doesn't like to drink water at all so you are probably correct. Somehow I will try to increase her water. God bless!
