People who have brain disorders may experience changes that effect their taste and appetite. I think they may also forget to eat.

That can happen to any of us with or without memory issues. As we age, we eventually lose some of our ability to taste.

And in some cases the food we loved we can't digest as easily. Case in point, my Dad started getting upset stomach after he ate ice cream, he never did before. He stopped having ice cream which he loved so much. So I experimented by buying Dad Lactaid ice cream. Sure enough he had zero problem with Lactaid products, thus Dad had developed over time a sensitivity to dairy products.
