I think medicare is in.I own the house and she wants it sold she wants us to spend our money now to spread out how much we pay, using some of her money mixed with ours to have mom's money last longer. I say let mom pay until she has no more and medacal will kick in. she says but the house is in both names, mom and ours, but the deed says it's our property. Is the house a problem? We can sell it but we bought it for them and the money would go to us. She is taking care of the money and bills now, without anyone auditing and I feel that we are contributing without the same from her.Everything of importance is gone, somewhere. My husband trusts her completely, however, so the missing objects is of no importance. She still has $40thou left. Does it make sense to continue to help pay for mom at this time?

Unless your Mom had contributed to the buying of the house if bought within the past 5 years.... the number of years that Medicaid will look back at your Mom's financial records. If Mom didn't offer any money to help you buy the house, then there isn't an issue with Medicaid.
Please don't co-mingle you and your husband's money with that of your Mom's. That could create a financial nightmare for your Mom with regard to Medicaid.
