I've heard wonderful things about the above supplement called Formula 303 and heard it's effective even on the most extreme insomnia cases. A Naturalist recommended it for my dad and I'm going to give it a try. He takes melatonin already, but it seems to have lost its effectiveness.

I agree there could be many, many reasons for this lack of sleep. Three reasons I have observed recently are these:

1. Too much sleeping during the day.

2. Unmanaged pain that literally keeps a person awake.

3. A c-pap breathing mask or other device that keeps the person awake.

If you give a little more info, you may get more specific replies.

Yes, need more info:

How old is your mom?
Is she at home or in a facility?
Does she have any preexisting medical/health conditions for which she is being treated?
Does she have cognitive impairment?
Is this a sudden change in her normal sleep pattern?
Has her doctor been treating her for any sleep disorders?
What is currently being done to improve her sleep, if anything?

etc.

There can be 100 reasons why your mom is having such a hard time sleeping at night! You have not filled out your profile, you have no information given about your mother, her age, the conditions she suffers from, nada. There is no way a forum of caregivers can possibly begin to help you with such a question! My suggestion is you contact your mother's Primary Care Physician and have a chat with him or her to ask this question and/or to set up an appointment for mom to have a full physical to rule out diseases at play that would cause her issues.

Best of luck to you and to your mom.
