Based on your preferences, we provide you with information about one or more of our contracted senior living providers ("Participating Communities") and provide your Senior Living Care Information to Participating Communities. The Participating Communities may contact you directly regarding their services. APFM does not endorse or recommend any provider. It is your sole responsibility to select the appropriate care for yourself or your loved one. We work with both you and the Participating Communities in your search. We do not permit our Advisors to have an ownership interest in Participating Communities.
II. How We Are Paid. We do not charge you any fee – we are paid by the Participating Communities. Some Participating Communities pay us a percentage of the first month's standard rate for the rent and care services you select. We invoice these fees after the senior moves in.
III. When We Tour. APFM tours certain Participating Communities in Washington (typically more in metropolitan areas than in rural areas.) During the 12 month period prior to December 31, 2017, we toured 86.2% of Participating Communities with capacity for 20 or more residents.
IV. No Obligation or Commitment. You have no obligation to use or to continue to use our services. Because you pay no fee to us, you will never need to ask for a refund.
V. Complaints. Please contact our Family Feedback Line at (866) 584-7340 or ConsumerFeedback@aplaceformom.com to report any complaint. Consumers have many avenues to address a dispute with any referral service company, including the right to file a complaint with the Attorney General's office at: Consumer Protection Division, 800 5th Avenue, Ste. 2000, Seattle, 98104 or 800-551-4636.
VI. No Waiver of Your Rights. Helped care for my Mother, suffering from dementia, until her passing last year. While not on Medicaid, only Medicare, was able to keep all receipts for incontinent supplies and file on her taxes. Hope this helps
janeenn323, if your loved one is on Medicaid, call the case worker and discuss this. It may take a day or two to hear back, as case workers are out visiting clients a lot, but that person can answer your question and also tell you how to arrange for your loved one to order and get delivery.
If they are on the HOSPICE benefit of MediCARE and they are totally bed-fast, then adult diapers and specialized "wipes" and gloves are covered by MediCARE. They can also get disposable bed pads too. The hospice agency will provide them and the hospice will include the costs in their billing to Medicare. The family does not pay for or be reimbursed for any of this. My mom gets all these services paid for by Medicare as she is on hospice @ a NH (on Medicaid for the NH r&b costs).
If your loved one is on hospice, adult diapers are provided, as are the meds prescribed by our hospice physician. They were not when Mama was on regular home health.
Medicare does not pay for adult diapers. My local medical supply store told me that Medicare does not pay for anything "bathroom related" which includes things like shower chairs, too. Medicaid depends on your state. Medicare is a federal program, but Medicaid is a state program. Adult diapers should be supplied by the nursing home and are usually considered part of the per diem charge.

The nursing hoe should supply the diapers-they charge at least $ 450 a day. If you are on home care through medicare supplies are covered in my state. It never hurts to call social services to ask what is covered.
They do not pay for diapers or pads. The best place I have found for these items is RiteAid and K-Mart. They both have good sales and RiteAid has a program for caregivers. Also, when a sale is on ask the manager if you can buy a case lot for futher savings. I always buy ahead for Mom because they can get very expensive at the regualar prices. good luck
medicare will pay for 1 (I believe) medical device a year prescribed by your doctor, hubby received a cane, then about 7 months later a walker and approx 3 months from that a wheel chair, it was explained that since he progressed thru the devices he was eligible for more then 1. Had he received the walker and then needed a cane they would not have paid for the cane. The maze of services out there is a nightmare to navigate, hang in there, keep asking questions, stand firm, I finally had to get my state rep involved to get hubby on some services.
