My mother who has Alz is experiencing extreme fatigue, dizziness, and a burning sensation in her head in her frontal lobe region. She is adamant that the front and top of her head behind her forhead burns and feels like it has pressure. MRI, MRA, CT scan, x-rays show nothing abmormal. Any ideas/info? Doctors say they “do not know” why she feels these sensations. Thanks for any and all input.

I think I would have her checked out by an ENT; it sounds like she may have a sinus infection.

I don't suppose she has ever had shingles? My MIL had the burning sensation on her head in much the same places as the shingles, intermittently and years afterwards.

She has just recovered from a scorching case of shingles on her face that lasted for almost 6 weeks. Wonder if this could be what is called post-herpetic neuralgia. Thanks.

I would think that this is almost certainly related to the shingles. There are meds that can help with nerve pain

I'm curious, were the docs who did all that imaging informed of the shingles?
