Acknowledgment of Disclosures and Authorization
By proceeding, I agree that I understand the following disclosures:
I. How We Work in Washington. Based on your preferences, we provide you with information about one or more of our contracted senior living providers ("Participating Communities") and provide your Senior Living Care Information to Participating Communities. The Participating Communities may contact you directly regarding their services. APFM does not endorse or recommend any provider. It is your sole responsibility to select the appropriate care for yourself or your loved one. We work with both you and the Participating Communities in your search. We do not permit our Advisors to have an ownership interest in Participating Communities.
II. How We Are Paid. We do not charge you any fee – we are paid by the Participating Communities. Some Participating Communities pay us a percentage of the first month's standard rate for the rent and care services you select. We invoice these fees after the senior moves in.
III. When We Tour. APFM tours certain Participating Communities in Washington (typically more in metropolitan areas than in rural areas.) During the 12 month period prior to December 31, 2017, we toured 86.2% of Participating Communities with capacity for 20 or more residents.

Mostly Independent
Your loved one may not require home care or assisted living services at this time. However, continue to monitor their condition for changes and consider occasional in-home care services for help as needed.
Remember, this assessment is not a substitute for professional advice.
Share a few details and we will match you to trusted home care in your area:
Are there any adjustments to hourly rates for in-home care. I am doing it for 6 hours a day and have increased from 2 days to 3. Should I expect an adjustment to hourly rate if I increase days/Hours per day.
No, the hourly rate stays the same up to where OT kicks in. In my state (MN) some districts and counties have mandated OT laws, as well as sick and vacation, and the size of the employer makes no difference.
FYI please check the labor and IRS rules in your state since very often a caregiver is not considered "contract" (1099) mainly because they only have 1 client and the client dictates where, when and how often the caregiver works. This means your client is your employer and should be paying you "above the table" and doing withholding of Medicare, SS on your paychecks and any other taxes from each paycheck. Make sure you always have a written contract with any client. No exceptions. Also make them prove they have enough liability coverage (and you might want to have your own). Workers Comp would cover any on-the-job injuries, but your client/employer needs to actually have this in place. My MIL broke her back on the job. It changed her life forever. It happens so protect yourself.
Other things that affect hourly rate for aids, CNAs, etc is if they are qualified to perform certain medical functions, like administering meds, dealing with catheters and IVs, giving injections, etc.
A few years ago we hired an aid from Visiting Angels in south FL. Once the client (my Aunt with adv dementia) became a fall risk, VA had to send us a different aid because they would have specific training for this. And, she was a higher hourly rate.
nj yes. care is out of pocket with an agency right now. looking to lowering our costs - either as i asked or hiring a private person i presently do not medical help and just started partial day and partial week I have been caretaker full time and just started getting part time help.
