I just read your profile.

Since your husband has dementia, not even a "faithful attorney" will be able to "explain" anything to him.

File for separation and get your assets divided in such a way that you are not impoverished.

Victoriaclark, scroll down to the bottom of this page.... now click on Elder Law Attorneys. Within that page you will find a section that helps you find an Attorney in your area.... it asks for the city or zip code.

I found my Elder Law Attorney using the above. She is great.

Not sure if you need a divorce lawyer or an elder lawyer. It comes down to, you need to split ur assets in half. If ur going to separate might as well go all the way so you r not responsible for him when his Dementia gets worse.

Rehab, you are not obligated to take it. Maybe you can ask for in home therapy because of your experiences.
