Dad has had dementia for 5 years and has just had a bowel operation.
He has become delusional and aggressive .wanting to leave the bed and hospital.
My brother has taken him home to mums and with him.
I am concerned when the sedatives wear off dad may become violent again and they will not be able to restrain him .and dad could get hurt.
It took 8 men in the hospital

I agree with above...Elderly people often have confusion after surgery with or with out dementia...I know it's scary to see him like this but he should be back to normal shortly..Give him a week and let his Dr know if he doesn't improve...

Dementia is a loss of brain function that occurs with certain diseases. It affects memory, thinking, language, judgment, and behavior.
Treatment depends on the condition causing the dementia. Some people may need to stay in the hospital for a short time.
