Why do u have POA when there is a child. Who is "he" asking to see the POA.
You are not obligated to show POA but if being asked for it by persons family, I see no problem showing it. There's a page that shows the person assigning you with their signature, witnesses signature and Notary stamp. That page and cover page with lawyers info is all you need to provide to prove POA.
As POA, IMO, you need to be able to see the person. I would talk to a lawyer to find out how to handle this. You can use the principles money.
First of all you say that you took POA papers to a notary.
That isn't how this is done; that isn't how ANY OF THIS is done.
A notary attests to a person's signature and nothing else.
It is an ATTORNEY who draws up a POA, has it witnessed and signed, and writes into it what the duties and expectations of the POA are.
After that is done, with principal and poa present, thereafter the POA shows NO ONE those records. It isn't the business of anyone whatsoever.
I can't figure out from your rather stream of consciousness writing just where you are going, nor who is requesting a POA, or what the POA gives you rights to do.
Something is very wrong here in all of this.
My advice is to take your questions and your papers to an elder law attorney, and I wish you the best of luck.
