My husband has early onset of Alzheimer's. He has always had a one-track mind! He has always been a very difficult person and I've suffered verbal and sexual abuse. Psychologically, I've shut myself down on anything to do with sex, in order to 'live'. Now, all of a sudden he shows a lot of love to me, is crazy about me, but in bed, wants to touch me all night. I can't stand it but don't dare to react due to the verbal abuse I suffered. I also am lacking sleep. How do I handle this?

Pamstegma, can you please explain? What is saltpeter? And why get rid of the Galantamine? Thanks.

I would let the Doctor know to see if the behavior is related to the meds. BUT increased sexual behavior is often seen with dementia. There is a hormone patch the doctor can prescribe to rein in the sexual behavior on your husband. Discuss this with the doctor as well.

Hmm this must be so difficult. Maybe ask the doctor to put him on anti depressants that will kill his interest.

Tell him you aren't feeling well, move to the spare room and lock the door. No means no, even among married couples.
