I am trying to take my mom out of the nursing home to her apartment. I applied for the NHTD, the application has taken forever; is anyone familiar with it? How long does it take?
Why do they make it so difficult if there is a proof the patient has dementia?
Here's the thing, mom needs a NH or she would never have been approved to be there.
Home care is having a difficult time finding workers, across the country, what do you know specifically about the workforce in your/her area?
I'm not trying to be rude but, you haven't seen a hard time until you deal with aids not showing up, maybe they bothered to call in, maybe not. Oh, some think that a twenty minute window of their starting time is acceptable and others figure leaving early is their right. Just to bring up a few things you could be facing.
Your mom has dementia, she's never going to get better, only worse.
Please don't do this because she wants to go home. That home she wants isn't within your power to give her.
I had no idea that LTC Medicaid happened. I had put all mom’s initial application paperwork up into storage and that years bank statements, etc here & there. That weekend was nothing but FUN! Went over to FedEx office to fax it over (not quite 30 pages) with a cover letter detailing the “14 Day” discrepancy. And certified snail mailed it as well with the return registered card. State sent out suspension letter dated day 21. Flurry of unfriendly phone calls later and all resolved. I’m of firm belief that all this is sent out automatically to show stats to state legislators that theses divisions need to keep their staffing #s.
For year 2, I was ready and kept a binder going with all info as it came in thru the year.
