My mom is not suffering from anything except being 95!   She is mentally acute and basically her only problem is one of mobility. She lives alone but does have help during the day, (10 hours). She's bored with the daily routine and is always reaching out to one of the daughters to keep her entertained. We take turns and spoil her with cruises, trips to the casino and nearby malls, but we, all senior citizens ourselves, have our own lives to live and "entertaining" 24/7 is out of the question.

Drop her off at you local joslin center twice a week. You choose to keep her entertained, you can choose to stop. Rotate once weekly with your sisters . That free you for a few weeks in between. don't allow your mom to try to guilt you.

Adult daycare, maybe? Also contact your local County Social Services. Some provide transportation to activities. Lastly, local churches might be of help. Best of luck!

I imagine you've already considered and rejected this idea, but your mother does sound like exactly the kind of person who really would thrive in a retirement community. Built-in activities and round the clock company with her peer group. Not her scene?
