Find Care & Housing
I am feeling incredibly sad. I have to make a decision to have or not to have neck surgery. This would be a fusion to stop the loss of strength in my hands. I might be able to survive for another year by just getting shots, but the pinched nerves keep getting worse. I'm afraid that if I wait too long I won't be able to help my husband when he needs more care. He is still only stage one Parkinson's. I had a major 7 1/2 hour back fusion last Nov. so don't really want another surgery so soon. Another problem is that my surgeon will retire next year. In the meantime, I sit here and try not to cry.

Yes, my husband, age 56 and a Professor of Corrections and Criminal Justice, was finally diagnosed about a year ago. We are going through some very difficult times but know to fall back on coping and survival skills.
