Hi, Im looking for a simple videophone to keep in touch with Mom with dementia who is in a home. Looks like they require a subscription for some reason. Has anyone used something like Viewclix or Grandpad? Thanks

I've used ViewClix for my wife, and am very happy with it. Requires no action on my wife's part, and sound and picture quality are very good. A little expensive but worth it.

I got my mom a Grandpad about 5 years ago and it has been a perfect solution. My mom has never used a computer or a smart phone and she is able to navigate the Grandpad's simple interface to send and receive calls, photos, and messages. There is a Central admin portal so it can be configured remotely.

I just purchased the Raz memory cell phone where the caregiver sets up the parameters via an app. The loved one can just tap on photo of who they want to call. It allows texting also. I got it for my 90 year old visually impaired father to hopefully make using his cell phone much easier.

We've used Grandpad and it worked perfectly well. Having a camera feature where should could take videos easily was the most important thing for us because we had been using Care-Trackers.com as a way to monitor her pill adherence. The phone was simple and my mom had no issue using it or the app. Highly recommend both.
