Following hospitalization and extreme weakness, a hospital bed has been recommended for Dad (almost 90). Mom, because of her dementia, is very upset and agitated at the thought of not sleeping with Dad. Sleeping in their regular bed is a problem for Dad because he tries to get up and falls, and because he'll be needing a bath aide to bathe him in bed. Just looking for any alternatives to this set-up or ideas for making the adjustment.

It’s super sweet that your mom continues to want to sleep in the same bed as dad (almost 90).

Can you set up a small side bed or cot for your mom?

Just put a twin size bed right up against the hospital bed(that can still be in their bedroom if that's what she wants)so they can still sleep side by side.
And I too think it's very sweet that she still after all these years wants to sleep with him. I mean why be married if you have to sleep in separate beds/rooms anyway? I never really understood all that, however I do have several married friends that sleep in separate bedrooms and I just think that is sad.
