My mom walks around in circles constantly to the point where she will fall and lose her balance. Additionally, her back is going off to one side (left) as a result. Does anyone's loved one do this as well, and has anyone ever had an idea on how to prevent their loved one from walking around in circles too often? She will sit down less than a minute and start walking around again.

Maggie's observations are insightful. Add to that the fact that your mother has begun slumping to one side and is uncomfortable sitting. I agree that a doctor's visit is in order, ASAP.

It's possible mom is in pain. Pain can cause people to pace and be unable to keep still.

Is she taking hydrocodone or another narcotic pain reliever? Constant movement can indicate that she is taking much more than she needs.

I'm really betting it's one of these two things. Please talk to mom's doctor as soon as you can. She's miserable.
