I have been reading questions and answers on this forum for quite a few years. If you feel like you can, give more information so you can get an informative answer. Do you have Area of Aging Office in your town? If so, call them as well.

Why did Mom need rehab?
Did she go passed the 100 days that Medicare pays for?
Was it determined that she needed 24/7 care?
Did she contract COVID?

If they is the Nursing Home they cannot take your home. Even Medicaid does not take your home. We need more info.

As others have said, the information that you provided is vague.

Can you please share a bit more?

If needed, consider reaching out to an elder attorney to get answers to your concerns.

Best wishes to you and your family.

Too little information in your post to answer your question.

Why did Mum go into Rehab?

Does she have Covid?

Who owns the house?

Is there a reverse mortgage on the home?

How long has she been in rehab?

No one is taking your home. Why do you think your home is being “legally stolen”?. There is obviously a misunderstanding here.

More info is needed:
- what state are you in?
- who is "they"?
- how old is your mom
- is she mentally competent?
- are you her PoA or is she under guardianship by the county?
- why was she in rehab?
- how long have you lived in the home and are you being evicted?
- is the house in foreclosure or is something else going on?

If you give a little more information, maybe someone here could advise you.

People can leave rehab. Sometimes they refuse admissions because of CoVid but no one can keep you from leaving unless you've lost the ability to make your own decisions.
