How am I affected?

I agree with everyone. Unless a spouse, you should never "share" an acct. Any acct with sister's name on it could be considered hers. At this point, I would do nothing until u spoke to Medicaid. You can't take urs or her name off the acct. at this point

What I would do if I were you, is open an acct in your name and if you are having SS or a pension direct deposited to shared acct have your SS and pension transferred to new acct. SS also offers a debit card now. Each month ur SS will be loaded onto the debit card. Then u use it as a credit card. Can use it at an ATM.

Please come back and tell us how things work out.

Appears that you have co-mingled funds, this is going to be somewhat of a mess to untangle. I hope that you have kept detailed records showing that all her funds were spent on her.

I would contact Medicaid and TT them about this, miss spent funds could cause a real issue here.

Assuming this is a Medicaid question.

Hopefully you have not been comingling funds. Otherwise you have one heck of a job in front of you to show who's money is who's. Her money can only be spent for her benefit.

Medicare does not have any qualifications beyond...65 or older, and pay the part A premium. That is it.

do you mean Medicaid?
