They told me if I try to see they will call the police on me. They have not even told my mother that Iam not being allowed to she her at all. She has her on cell phone that she es to call me on it always everyay all day long and I would call her everyday and make sure is ok.Now she dos not call me at all.And I can not even get a hold of her at all either. Ifeel she is being kept from talking to me because they do not want to let me talk to her. I feel this is a form of abuse mental abuse. especially since my mothers health and mental condition depens on mvisiting like I did everyday. I have high blood presure and since ery thats happened my blood presure has been high everyday and has not gone down at all because I have been so angry about whats going on. And just think about how crazy my mother is feeling about not being able to see me. Sincerely Roger H.

Roger, get some medication for your anxiety and anger, then ask about supervised visitation. My BIL would take meds an hour before he saw mom so he could keep calm while he was there. He also learned to recognize when he was 'ready to blow' and would excuse himself and leave.

Under federal guidelines, each nursing facility must develop and implement written policies and procedures prohibiting mistreatment, neglect, or abuse of residents. A resident in such a nursing facility is entitled to receive verbal and written notice of the rights and services to which he or she is entitled during his/her stay in the facility. This notice must be give prior to or upon admission, and periodically throughout the resident's stay, in a language the resident understands. The resident must acknowledge his or her receipt of such notice in writing.

Nursing home residents have the right to see family members, ombudspersons or other resident advocates, physicians, service providers, and representatives of the state and federal government.

Have they told you why you are no longer allowed tp see your mother? Nursing homes cannot arbitrarily ban family members from visiting their residence without a reason.

I would contact the ombudsman for your state and ask for this to be investigated.

Is there anything that happens during your visits that might cause the facility to feel that you are disrupting your mom's care, or the peace and quiet needed by other residents? The ombudsman will probably ask these questions, so have your answers ready.
