I think I sent up a post but don't see it yet

My mom isn't doing well

My only sibling, my sister is pretty much evil-so many examples

I know she is hovering around to see what happens with money

I hope I can handle it. I am trying to get my mom to get some paperwork in order although I do think she will pull through

Find Care & Housing
Getting papers in order should be a DPOA for finances and a Medical Directive. The Directive should read like a living will. Everything Mom does and doesn't want. A DNR signed by her doctor if she does not want to be resuscitated. A Will if she owns a home and has money. Only one Executor to tgecWill. She can get passed probate by having her bank accts set up as Payment on Death and list beneficiaries. All insurance policies should have beneficiaries. Her house can be put in a trust.

If everything is done correctly, sister can't get anything until she is suppose to..

I’m sorry that your mom isn’t well. Your profile says that she has cancer.

You mentioned paperwork. What are you referring to?

You say that your mom is at home. Do you live with her? Do you have any outside help?

Do you have any specific questions?

Penny, I cannot find another post from you.
I see you are following a post from TinaMarie, and commented on it, but I can find nothing else.

It is sad you and your sister are not getting along while your mom apparently is quite ill.

Can you explain your Mom's diagnosis and prognosis for us a bit?
What paperwork concerns you?

You mention fears that your sister is hanging around "for money".
Is there a good deal of money at stake here, and has your mom completed POA papers appointing you to decisions and financial oversight? Is there a will with you as executor already? Or are you concerned that you don't have paperwork that may in future be needed. Such as advanced directive and such-like?

If you tell us a bit more, and give us some direct questions, I hope we can be of some assistance with advice.
Meanwhile I wish you the best.

Hi thanks all

We haven't done a POA or a living will yet. Trying to get an appointment with a lawyer.

She has a will but my father is most likely the executor and he isn't really fit mentally to handle it. They are well off but not rich.

My mom is going to have a cancer operation in a month, she has stage 2 esophageal cancer. I am worried for her but the surgeon is very good and I am praying she gets through it.

Maybe it's selfish but I want to get this done asap, if not my sister will make my life a living hell and will fight tooth and nail to get all she can. We don't talk to each other at all.

She lives in another state, I live 1/2 hour from my mom.

She is very unpleasant and well, downright mean.

I guess I don't really have a specific question, just looking for advice from people who may have dealt with a similar situation.
