multiple times hospital discharge papers were wrong, transferring to regabs for my husband. As his caregiver I had close communications with several specialists. But the facility Dr. Would not communicate or listen to my instructions based in9 yrs care! I went to Medicare Omsbudman finally got help. Though still not sure his meds are correct.. it could be fatal. A terrible fight to keep my husband alive and well at 92!!!!
What is your own age, if I may make so bold to ask? Are you feeling perfectly competent now to negotiate all that it takes to do this home care? Do you have any support? Is there family nearby.
Realistically your husband is 92. I am a youngster compared to him, but at 80 I do know I have long passed my "sell by date" and the rest of the time allotted to me is "gravy". Of course, you would not want to think that your husband could meet his demise because of a simple mistake in prescription dosages.
I wish you good luck and hope that Monday you will get some rest and peace with what meds are orders in what dosages and at what time. I hope all goes well.
After 13 days in rehab (took that long to get a care meeting) I found out Mom was not getting her Thyroid meds for Graves desease. She was under a specialists care. In researching where this order came from I found it was from the Dr at the hospital. He ran labs on Mom and found out her levels were normal so he didn't order the medication. They were normal because she was on medication!
He took it upon himself to drop a medication that another Dr. Prescribed without consulting with him.
Call your PCP and ask him to contact the Dr at Rehab and explain that your husbands medication needs to be adjusted.
