My father has dementia/Alzheimer's and has had it for a while at least 6 years. Things have gotten worse with the verbal abuse towards my mother I believe she has finally seen the light. My two sisters and I are in the process of finding a place that specializes in memory care. He needs to be in a facility so that mom can get some form of normalcy in her life. This disease is deteriorating her. Is this the right avenue to pursue?

Yes, this is what should happen now. Another thing that might help Mom is joining a local support group for caregivers of persons with dementia.
