Hi, does anyone know of wheelchair accessible rentals (for one or two nights/long weekend etc) for non-ambulatory wheelchair users in new england/east coast, ideally philadelphia area for a medical visit? VRBO and Airbnb dont have any. Our loved one cant walk/stand so even a place with a single stair to get into the home or into the bed/bathrooms will not work. We'd like to find a home we cant rent ourselves versus an accessible room in a hotel. The other idea would be a hotel but one that's boutique/alternative with 'bungalow' style rentals where you have a stand alone rental to yourself on a shared property.

Thanks!

Is this person coming to Philly for medical reasons. If so, call the office if they know of places.

Yup for an overnight medical trip-i found a list of accommodations online but they are almost all hotels-one or two bed & breakfasts but not wheelchair accessible unfortunately-still trying to find an option it may have to be a hotel

Thanks-i used airbnb's filters (much better than vrbo's one 'wheelchair accessible' filter) but the no results pop up in the area/surrounding states-i didnt think of the chamber of commerce idea, thanks. The online vacation clubs sound interesting-are there national groups (like a name you've heard of?) that have local chapters kind of thing? thx!

Have you used the features filter for this on Airbnb or other rental sites?

Go to this page which will show you how to filter for accessibility features:

If you have a location in mind, you can try contacting their Chamber of Commerce to see if they can provide info.

Or, look for an online vacation "club" for wheelchair bound travelers and seek advice on their forums.
